Luca Delli Carri
01.10.2003
by Michele Marchianò
Let's start with the title: happy, fun and inspiring. Even if the author specifies now as motorcycle riders are just crazy for those who see them run, because they go speed crazy and do crazy things; but in truth the pilot is the opposite of crazy, because it pursues only the calculated risk. Crazy or not crazy, the book tells them one by one in 60 interviews: an unmissable opportunity to swap the usual television show with a good read. A must for fans of the two wheels; interesting for all the others. It speaks of course of the great champions of the sport. There are those of yesteryear (in activities dl 1947-1966), yesterday (1967-1984) and present (1985-2002). All tell their own story. Not the same old story, though. Something different and often of unprecedented, when goaded author pursues them with questions always appropriate. Delli Carri is an author who goes deep prejudice lightweight. Not boring, in fact. So a good start with the title, but goes even better with the text. The raw material is great. He takes the pace. Do not we list the name of the respondents because not all potendoli indicate, we should choose the most important. Delli Carri do not want to instead create value scales. The pilot most famous is treated as the least known. Always carefully. The author, if anything, has a delicate thought just for those left out. Dedicates his book to one for all, "the Barbisino, born with the bike in the blood, which will be ten years since he died and nobody remembers it anymore." Just a beautiful work, commissioned by another "crazy" (to tie though seriously), so great is his passion: Gianfilippo Salvetti, who already announced: "Motorists, get ready. The next is for you".
